kidney failiure advice please?

hi i havnt been on here for a while but really need some advice, roxy started to vomit and become lathargic last thursday we took her to the vet friday who kept her in for 5 hours on a drip as she was dehydrated through vomiting water and dog food she came home at 6 pm the same day as she hadnt been sick at the vets! at 7pm she vomited all her water and food back up so saturday she went bk to the vet who said see how she goes over the weekend and give her antibiotics! anyway she was no better if not worse she wouldnt eat by monday and we had to wake her up for water and she was staring at walls and doors for half an hr at a time so we took her the vets this morning again who said she needed to stay in for a xray they rang me up at 2pm i was told the xray was fine so they give her a ultrasound scan to find she has severe blood posioning caused by her kidneys the vet said she is really not well

iv read about kidney failiure on the internet and its not looking good she has lost so much weight and has no energy at all im just wondering if anyone nos what her chances are as the vet said she has proberly had this since she was a puppy and its come to a head now

i just dont no what to do or expect ? shes staying at the vets tonight on a drip the worst part is she is only 1 and a hlf not even 2 till april i am just so sad and upset

i dont no what to ask the vet neither they havnt said if she can come home they have just said play it by ear???

if any one can help/advise i would be very gratful

thank you

Re: kidney failiure advice please?

My heart goes out to you. I lost one of my dogs to kidney failure just before her 2nd birthday 2 years ago.

It must be such a shock to you, I know it was to me when my girl was diagnosed at 6 months old. I was lucky that I had another 17 months after her diagnosis to come to terms with it all. I always thought of kidney failure affecting older dogs but it can affect them at any age.

Huge (((hugs))). You're in my thoughts.
