Silly question

This might sound a silly question but isit ok to burn scented candles around my puppy? Obviously out of his reach but i just wondered if there might be any fumes that are bad for them??
My puppy is a bit pongy and i wanted the house to smell nice! we have bathed him and he is clean.

Hannah xx
