yeah most of the time when i wasnt cleaning out enclosures. i used to give the bat eared foxes blood ice lollies on hot days and they loved em. my arrdvarks used to have meat milk shakes too for dinner!

I think there were some stories about feeding ice cubes, making the gut go in to shock due to the high body temp of the dog and the freezing of the cubes. and causing a GDV.

So i always feed in moderation and never straight after a walk when the dog is hot and panting.

I've heard that too but I tend to think it's just scare mongery!

i worked in kessingland zoo, now known as africa alive in suffolk!

that must have been a great job, I would love to do something like that

yeah it was fab and lots to do, absolutely non stop all day!
feeding, cleaning, enrichment and more cleaning, health checking and even more cleaning!
