Ahhhh Claras ate a slug!!!!

Clara brought a slug into the house and ate it!!!! I tryed getting it out of her mouth but she had it swallowed. Will she be ok? Are slugs poisionous for dogs?

Just make sure she is wormed for lung/heart worm as slugs are the worst culprit for infecting dogs with this

Yes, slugs and snails are bad for dogs, can cause lung and heart worm. Make sure she's covered for those as a lot of wormers don't cover them. And although one probably won't do much damage, I'd try to make sure it doesn't become a regular habit!

oh my staff puppy Izzy eats slugs all the time its disgusting, i was only worried they might have been killed with slug pellits but didnt realise she could get really ill from them!! Im worried now i always try to take them off her but dont always succeed, what wormers are good against lung/heart worms?? (sorry for stealing thread) Thanks

You can also treat for lungworm with Panacur wormer.

ah have been using panacur so that puts my mind at rest a little now if she would just stop eating the revolting little things.....................
