Re: Best Dog Food

Thanks for all the advice, I did look at Naturediet but to be honest the price put me off a little! Pets@home charged around 70p for one tray.

I would like her to get used to dry but most people wean pups on wet food and its difficult to try and get them to switch! Cola was a rescue pup and her foster family gave her meat with mixer biscuit.

She seems to enjoy the dry and when its mixed with a little water its like gravy. I will try and keep her on that for now but think I will invest in some naturediet for a change now and then as she really enjoys her meat!

Thanks for all the responses, the tip about adding water has been invaluable since I have 2 huge bags of JWB and I thought they would go to waste!

wet the whole food and then put less and less water into it until she is completely just on dry food without it being moistened!

i will be doing this with vegas, she is on burns but i am wetting it because she is woofing it down and choking herself. she eats slower when its moist, so hopefully she will learn to eat slow all the time, so she can just have it dry!

Hi, I was also a bit miffed when I went to pets at home to buy some as our local little pet shop was out of stock.
70p for one- thats like £13 or £14 for a 18 pack!
However I have found another little local store which sells them at 64p each and at £10 for a tray of 18. The tray of 18 lasts us about 2 weeks ( my boy is fully grown mind- so wud last u longer). If you want to try nature diet I suggest going to a smallish local pet store as generally they tend to be cheaper as they can't complete with the big guys like petsathome.
Or u could look online as well.
Hope this helps.

Re: Best Dog Food

Thanks! A tray of 18 for £10 sounds much much better!

I will look around the local pet shops to see what they offer.

Re: Best Dog Food

Try Nature Diet with Whloebake (mixer and soak mixer in warm water) or Orijen with Whloebake (still using warm water to soak mixer and biscuite) as this will prevent bloat also try feeding your dog with a kong and make it lie down and eat this is a very natral way of eating (this is how wolves would eat) this is good for digestion too. or you could try Eat Better Dog Bowl (search on google)

Re: Best Dog Food

Nature diet is hard to beat in my opinion, it is as bout as natural as you can get with none of the junk associated with many tinned foods.
