Re: Grapes

Yer dogs do like carrots.
I used to freeze them and give them to my pup for chewing when he was teething.
Ended up with a big mucky mess of water and carrot on the floor- but he enjoyed it!

Re: Grapes

My Springer pup loves carrot too but makes a right mess with it!! He also loves apple!! We were worried when he managed to jump up while I was at the fridge and he grabbed a whole bag of grapes out and munched through half before we could get them off him we too had heard they were bad!! We thought the worst but luckily nothing happened, he must have a stomach of steel!! That's not to say that we would ever give them to him in the future!!
I'd also like to mention that we changed our dog food recently after great advice from this site!! We were giving our pup bakers puppy and didn't know it was like giving him skittles and being a springer he didn't need any help to make him more hypo!! He has been on Burns adult food for about a month now and really seems a good choice, it seems to have calmed him down, only a little though lol!!

OMG- my dog was on bakers when we got him as a pup- I've never seen such tiny animal dart around so much- he was literally buncing off the walls. Once we put him on nature diet he transformed from a mad raving banshee to a normal dog!! Bless him! It does make you think thou- if thats what all these additives and stuff does to dogs what does it do 2 us??

Re: Grapes

My puppy also loves carrots, and yes she does make a mess but its great she will eat them. I also grate some into her Royal Canin jnr along with a few cooked peas, sweetcorn and broccoli. She does get a little less of her dry food when I add the veggies. I am going to try her on other veg to see what she likes.

Gabby also loves ice cubes - we get some funny looks when we call in a pub on a walk, order a drink, then ask for a glass of ice cubes for our dog

Yer i know! I remember one occasion when one very naughty doggy decided to steal an onion from the chopping board because it was ball shaped ( and had chase potential). He didn't eat it just held it in his mouth waited to see what my reaction was and then there was a wild goose chase around the garden. I got it off him and he hadn't eaten any thank God, he just wanted me to give chase ( pup at time) !!I was annoyed with myself after for not being more switched on although there was no harm done!
The onions etc are now kept in a "dog proof" draw!!

Re: Grapes

Katie loves ice cubes, and carrots. Shes funny when she's eating ice cubes as she has to spit them out and stare at them, if they melt she starts searching for the cube she put down. Although she can be a pain with it, because it's hot at the moment I'm making ice lollies for my toddler and being a small child he wants to share with the dog ... so she's recently had blackcurrant and mango ice lollies ... luckily she's got an iron stomach, so now the toddler is having 'council juice' lollies so the dog can share, lol, the poor child thinks ice cubes on sticks are delicious!
