i HAD MY JACK RUSSELL BITCH MICROCHIPPED WHEN SHE WAS APPROXIMATLY 12 WEEKS OLD SHE IS NOW 7 MONTHS, SHE HAS BEEN LIMPING (AFTER SHE HAS BEEN ASLEEP) FOR ABOUT 2MONTHS.
I TOOK HER TO THE VETS WHO TOLD ME I HAVE BEEN TAKING HER FOR TOO LONG A WALK FOR HER AGE OK I ACCEPT THAT, HE SAID KEEP HER ON A LEAD FOR ABOUT TWO WEEKS THEN BUILD HER UP TO LETTING HER OF THE LEAD AGAIN. I KEPT HER ON THE LEAD FOR 4 WEEKS THEN STARTED BUILDING UP TO LONGER WALKS, BUT STILL SHE IS LIMPING EVERY NOW AND AGAIN. MY QUESTION NOW IS COULD THE MICROCHIP HAVE WEAKENED HER SHOULDER MUSCLE CAUSING THE LIMP? HAS ANYONE ELSE HAD THIS PROBLEM. |

Re: Microchipping
It wont be the chipping as said it goes into the fatty tisue in the scruff no deeper , our Daisy acquired a limp at about 9 months had her x rayed and it showed signs of OCD a form of cartilidge damage in the elbow joint , it can be cause through too much exercise while in the growing stage as bones are lenghtening and growing so restricting your dog to a lead for a while will give it time to settle if your worried about it getting worse or not getting better go back to the vet and have them look for anything else it could be .
