Re: Best food for sensitive dog

There's so much rubbish in most of the big name brand dog foods. Whatever else you do, I would also try getting him onto a better grade food, which Hill's and Iams are not, no matter what they cost.
There are a few commercial foods that are OK, though. I myself prefer homemade. That way I know what I'm feeding. I know this may not suit everyone, though.

Talking Re: Best food for sensitive dog

you could try your dog on burns natural dog food, it is specially formulated for dogs with sensitive digestive systems and alsot more. i feed my puppy vegas on burns and she loves it. when i got her she had really bad diarrhoea and her tummy was very sensitive, but since feeding her this shes been fine and her poo's are returning to normal!

Ive got a 13 month old lab, for the last 6 months he has developed a very crusty nose. Our vet at first thought it was an auto immune disease but that was ruled out.
We have used a steroid cream which works but we can only use it for a short time then it comes back.
Weve been prescribed hills z/d food and i was wondering if this was the best food if it is an allergy?
He is otherwise very fit and healthy, ive attached a picture sorry its not the best. thanks jen an ted the lab
