Adult dog refusing to eat adult food

I have worked out the problem with Fudge & Holly my border terriers. Fudge won't eat adult kibble as he finds them too large, today he went up to Nessas puppy food and wolfed it down, he loves the tiny kibble.

Is there any adult dry food that has small kibble? He is 1 & Holly is 10 months old, keeping him on puppy food wouldn't be good for him would it?

It might not be the size of the kibble..alot of dogs perfer the puppy food seems to appeal to them more.

Arden grange is quiet smallish try putting some warm water on his dry food and softening it for him, it also makes a nice gravy for it too

Re: Adult dog refusing to eat adult food

He ate the adult Arden Grange for a few days but we noticed he was struggling with the size. He is used to the Royal Canin puppy dry food which is tiny kibble.

Any adult food we have tried we have had this problem where he can't seem to chew it properly. I have tried water in the food but he refuses to eat it with water in.

Burn Pet food does a Minibites range which is suitable for adult dogs. Science Plan also does a small bites range for adults. I hope this has been useful.

Would the Burns mini bites be suitable for a border terrier do you think?

Re: Adult dog refusing to eat adult food

Some dog food brands do a small breed variety have you tried one of them?

My greyhounds prefer small pieces of food. They have specialist greyhound food which is in small pieces.
