when buddy was bout 3/4 month old i used to get him a bag of bones from the butchers which were already frozen and he used to love them - kept him quiet for hours!! make sure you put a towel down tho cos as they defrost they can leak blood - as i found out when my mums cream rug turned red!lol i think there fine so long as there frozen first as this kills the bacteria

hi, my pups are 14 weeks old and they are happily eating knuckles, wings and large ribs that i get from the butchers and they can be frozen if you get large amounts. Shame the raw didn't work out, mine have been on it for just over a week and it stopped their runs and they seem to be doing great on it. The only thing im not brave enough to do yet is leave them with the chicken wings to eat when no one is around just in case a bit gets stuck!!

you have to get the mix right of meats, bones and veg. then shouldnt have the runs, it would take a little time to work but is the best way to feed you dog,
pups have lots of meaty bones.

can give them to her now.
you can ask you butcher for any bones, proberly be willing to get rid of them.

Most bacteria is good bacteria and a good healthy dog is well equiped to deal with bad bacteria.

Freezing won't kill harmful bacteria like Salmonella and E.Coli it will however kill parasites like Neospora which are more of a risk when feeding raw meat and bones.

Raw meat and bones are best fed fresh to a healthy dog as exposure to bacteria etc encourages a healthy immune system. All my dogs get fresh meat and bones as often as possible.

You are perfectly okay to feed raw bones to your puppy. It's up to you which bones you feed.

Glad to hear you're feeding her a steady diet now!

Re: knuckle bones at what age can i give to Ronnie she is 3 months ?

I went to the butchers yesterday to get some bones,i was given a huge bin bag full, when i got home i opened the bagthere were bones, but also bits of skin, innards and lumps of fat!!!i had a good old rummage,up to my elbows in dead animaland salvaged lots of meaty bones, some i froze, and kept couple in fridge for tommorow.dylan the cocker promptly went to the top of the garden and buried his, where poppy settled down to eat it.Thanfully it was black bin day today,so rest of crap went out, will be more careful next time.
