Re: weak bladder

Do you know what is causing the bladder weakness? I would be careful limiting fluids as it could lead to more problems and you also have another dog to consider - perhaps only limit at night? you could also put a puppy training pad into the bed at night to soak up any accidents. What does the medication do?
Sorry I am asking more questions than giving solutions

Hi Meg - I suppose the vet has ruled out a urinary infection? Sometimes that causes animals to wet themselves, and if it is that a course of antibiotics would clear up the problem.

Re: weak bladder

Propalin works brilliantly. You will probably find that you see an improvement in just a few days. My elderly labrador was put on it when she started constantly dribbling urine and it cured her even though she had to take it for the rest of her life. Propalin is a specialized drug so i dont think that the vet would have prescribed it if it wasnt needed. Is she elderly? apparently this type of problem is quite common in elderly bitches and bitches who have been spayed. My bess was both but i highly recommend the use of propalin as it made such an huge difference to my girl.
Good luck,i hope she shows improvement soon. Make sure your other pets dont eat some of her food though....

Re: weak bladder

Is she spayed? At what age was she done? Also being overweight can make this problem worse, is she at a good weight?

Yep, im afraid the propalin is usually the only option, unless you want to try and get her exercising her pelvic floor muscles! LOL!

The propalin does have good results though

when we rescued her she'd had a lump removed that was quite large that was pressing on her groin.
i'm hoping that the propalin works for

Re: weak bladder

Biological washing powder in hot water, this neutralises the ammonia in the urine
