Re: Is your dog drinking enough?

You probably know rona but for those who might not you can buy rehydration therapy to mix in with the water.its promotes intestinal absorbtion of water and electrolytes. Theres one called lectade sa and another called rcw rehydration support canine/feline instant. Its handy to keep in first aid kit. For use after vomiting or diarrhoea or post surgery as well. If you have trouble locating it available from vet medic 0800 387348. Vet-Medic - the same medicines as your vet at consistently low prices.

Good point, mine actually stopped drinking though so they wouldn't have been much use
Wet or dry food must obviously be taken into consideration.

I hope you all realize that this thread is over a year old

Re: Is your dog drinking enough?

Thanks for the quantities. Not a worry in my house... Leo easily goes through 4ltr per day... weighs 140lb

Re: Is your dog drinking enough?

This is something I have concerns with.

Heidi got a tum upset and I have no idea why but I am leaning toward feeding 100% dry and perhaps not drinking enough
Once we got her tum sorted, no way could I get her back onto dry food. As soon as we reached 50/50 it would start up again.
Could have been because her tum was still tender but once I started soaking the dry, we were away.
Now she has ND mixed with soaked kibble.

She still doesnt drink a lot. Sometimes nothing until the evening.

Presumable if I was to measure out her daily quota, I would have to allow for the water content in ND and the amount I am putting on her kibble?

I think I read somewhere that Green Tea is good for them? May be I could get her hooked on that
