What's really in your dogs food???
Found a interesting link that explains what the ingredients listed on dog foods actually are and gives them a rating out of 5. It seems to be a pretty good guide as far as I can tell;

Re: What's really in your dogs food???
Interesting guide, Alan. It's gonna take some time to read and digest (
) it. One thing I picked up from it already is how bad beet pulp is - Gabby is allergic to beet pulp (it makes her eyes red and sore) and trying to find a food that doesn't use it as a bulking agent is very difficult. |

Re: What's really in your dogs food???
Well, after speaking to just about every pet food manufacturer at Crufts a couple of years back - most of whom tried to tell me I was wrong about beet pulp (I wonder why!!
) we found one in our local pet shop called Goodfeast, which seems to do the trick -and it seems to be keeping them healthy. Only trouble is, now I've read the list on your link, I'm a bit worried that it doesn't list what meat is in it - it just says meat of animal extract. ![]() |
