Eukanuba Breed specific

Anybody got experience/opinions on the Eukanuba breed specific? (in particular SBT specific)

Just wondering really ;-)

I just got a small bag of 2 kgs free from the pet shop near me (as I was looking at it and saying awww didnt know eukanuba did breed specific food LOL).
I had a quick look at the ingredients list and it doesnt sound too bad (but for the fact that it isnt cereals-free of course )...

My boy is on JWB cereals-free at the moment and he seems fine on it, its only the beginning though.
I am thinking of getting him Orijen some time in the future but when he is a bit older as Orijen, as far as I know, has a very high protein percentage which is not really recommended for growing dogs..my boy is 14months old now.

I am just wondering about this Eukanuba if its worth me "testing" him on it at some point or just using it as treats

Anybody got any experience with the food? Any opinions on the ingredients list?
Not too interested in views about the company itself, only the food and whats in it

xxx

Re: Eukanuba Breed specific

Thats the list of ingredients I found on Eukanuba website:

Ingredients
Chicken (>24%), maize, wheat, animal fat, sorghum, barley, poultry meal, dried beet pulp, chicken digest, brewer's dried yeast, dried whole egg, potassium chloride, sodium chloride, fish oil, calcium carbonate, sodium hexametaphosphate, linseed, DL-methionine, glucosamine HCl, chondroitin sulphate. Contains EC permitted antioxidants (see batch code number on package). No colourants, flavourings or preservatives added.

I compared with some of the reviews on dogfoodanalysis.com (I like it coz they explain quite clearly the ratings) of Eukanuba breed specific and they seem to have quite improved their food since the reviews..

xx

okdoki! soo. Staffordshire bull terrier yes?
Heres what my booklet says

It contains animal protein and L-Carnitine for a lean body and powerful muscles.
glucosamine and chondroitin sulphate for healthy joints and mobility.
beet pulp for optimal digestion
antioxidants such as vit E for a strong immune system.

i dont know if thats any use to you lol.
it all has to do with the different needs of the breed for example some breeds are more prone to sensitive stomachs and some are more prone to weight gain or joint problems.
