Was he? Well the vet gave him an antibiotic jab, she said it was red only a little but he could have bit of infection. He's getting more pathetic by the minute tho.

He was obviously in pain last night he was limping and licking it, but up and down ran about on his walks as normal, he was fine, just putting up with it. but now!! o.m.g but i know whats wrong with him its because we took him to the vets if we had took him and they had done nothing he would still be in this state. Yes that look i know the one you mean, wait until its walk time he will be as happy as larry forgotten it all, then he will come back and we will have the face again, he has always been the same.

At the vets he is jumping at the doors literally crawling the walls he HATES IT!!!!!

Re: damaged dewclaw

I've got an 8 month old German Shepherd who caught his dewclaw jumping in the boot of the car when going for a walk. Didn't hear a yelp or anything but when we went to open the boot there was rather a lot of blood.

Stopped the bleeding, rushed to the local Tesco (was in the middle of nowhere and 20miles from home!), got it cleaned up, bandaged and got back home. Spoke to the vet and was told if the bleeding wasn't severe and he wasn't in any obvious pain then keep it clean apply fresh bandages each day.

Now 4 days afterwards and although it stings if he catches it on something he leaves it be.
