Beagles should have lamb, rabbit, poultry and potatoes for the main part. No fish, beef or rice.
A friend of mine rehomed a very well bred beagle from an ex customer. He had terrible itchy feet (the vet diagnosed a grass allergy) he was given malaseb (!) and countless pills, his feet got worse and to the point where he would aggressively tell you NOT to touch them. Once he went to my friend, she changed him over to a suitable diet (he was on Beef bakers complete) Yuk! and now his feet are perfectly healthy, and no more biting for touching his feet, they can be handled as much as you like. If he so much as licks a beef bone, his feet turn pink again
