Vaccinations and socialisation

Hi just a quick question. We get our puppy next week (can't wait) when she is 8 weeks old. She will have had her first vaccination by then, but my question is regarding puppy parties and puppy training classes - do I have to wait until 7 days after her second vaccination to attend these?

I am aware that the socialistion window closes at 16 weeks, but if she is not allowed in contact with other dogs until 13 weeks that doesn't leave much time.

The trainer that I have been in contact with says he can take puppies as long as they have had their first vaccination. Isn't this risky?

Sorry to be a pain. This is my first dog as an adult and I am like an expectant father... clueless and nervous.

The user ajshep1984 i believe is taking his pup to a similar thing & i'm sure he will be along later to advise, also you could just make a call to your local vet & i'm sure they would be happy to advise...
we also took cassie to something like this. IT was at vets4pets and after they close on a saturday morning you can take ur puppy its free and ya sit in a circle and pass them round, wlk them round the chairs and other puppies then let then all off the lead for great big play it was so much fun, but we had to watch cassie cos she was lots bigger than other pups and knocked them flying lol

That's where we take ours! They love it!

You can take them once they have had their first vaccination. As far as I know its the same everywhere. The "parties" are usually free and just focus on getting them socialised with people and other pups. The training classes you will have to pay for.

It's best if you can talk to someone who has had a pup recently and get someone/where recommended or if your vet is any good they might be able to recommend someone.

No - East London. John Uncle operates out of Muswell Hill, so it's not that far.
