Molly had op :(

Molly was spayed yesterday and she looks really sorry for herself. Poor thing can't move without yelping, I sat up with her all night, but what worried me is that she hadn't been to the toilet since Sunday night but she is too scared to move, so I took her back to the vet this morning and he told me not to worry but if she hasn't done anything by tomorrow to take her back and they will give her something.
I felt a bit like an over protective mum but i'm glad i took her to put my mind at ease. She did eat a little chicken and rice this morning so at least she's not lost her appetite. I'm sure in a day or two she will feel a lot better. I have to take her back in 9 days to have her stitches out, not looking forward to that I'm glad she doesn't have to go through all that again.

So glad to hear she's ok. Please don't worry about the stitches......it's over in a flash & she won't feel a thing. x

Like Roo said, the stitches out are really not a problem. When Chance had her 'lady bits' done she didn't flinch. She has just been back to have her leg operation stitches removed (12 stitches & 3 staples) and once again, she didn't flinch.

Oh ime dreading all this with Molly, our boys were done and they just sailed through it, so why ime finding it hard to even think about her going through it, i dont know, maybe because she is our first little girl, my sons were young when we had the boys, they are grown up now and she is thoroughly babied

Glad your Molly has it over with and sure she will be wanting to bounce around in a couple of days.

Re: Molly had op :(

Hi

Pippin had her lady op on Monday morning of this week, its the week for it by the sounds of it!

She stayed in the vets until teatime, and for the rest of the evening at home she was very glazed over and shivery, so spent the night in blankets and all stucked in. She didnt eat anything on Monday, just had a big drink. She had a little food yesterday evening and a treat, and even had a chew on her new tuggie toy I bought her!

This morning, she is much more frisky and ate all of her breakfast. She hasnt tried to lick her stitches, and is sleeping a lot which is the best thing. She has been given metacam which she began yesterday and will finish on Monday, before she has her stitches out next Thursday.

I felt awful when she first came home, but its for the best as we dont wish to breed from her and it is the best thing. Pip didnt enjoy going for a number two yesterday, she hasnt had one today but hopefully it will be a bit easier. I guess it pulls on them with the way they sit.

Feel free if you want to contact me to compare how our pups are doing.
