Most anaesthetics used would cause a (hopefully) minimal reaction, but the risks are always there in pregnant dogs. It's weighing up the options though and for something like a stuck fish hook that has to be removed, a short GA may cause little effect.

I did mention to the owner that they should try and x-ray the bitch without sedation but by the time he had rang me the bitch had been at the vets half hour and was already under.
Personally I would have tried it without sedation first but some just go along with vets like they dont have options! She's a Bullmastiff so she may have kept still! ![]() Hope it does have minimal affect. It would be such a shame if it all went wrong. Sods law aint it though, it couldnt have happened at a worse time ![]()
