Re: itching till he bleeds

i think the JWB treats should be ok, but id need to double check.

burns do treats called ocean bites which are made of 100% fish. my dog adores them.

for chews, you could look at ones by Antos, they have 100% vegetable chews and sea algae chews. they are really healthy and dogs seem to absolutely love them! we sell them by the shedloads in our shop! (the mini bone treats and sticks wouldnt be suitable tho - just the veg chews)

heres a link Antos Ltd - Products

Trying to find a treat's is quite diffcult. he likes his Bonios but all the varieties have meat deritives in which is obviously no good. We just ordered some Wainwrights Turkey biscuits which would have been perfect, only to find out they had poultry fat in.

He is slowly getting better the vet said we should see results in two weeks. However within a week of chaning his diet he has improved dramtically. (touch wood it will continue)
glad he's getting better.
For treats, you could try dried fish skins which many dogs love (though mine ate one, sicked it back up and refused to even sniff them again). Burns do them, other manufacturers do too. In your position I would look at the websites of companies such as Burns, JWB or others who do good food for dogs with food intolerances and see if they do anything that would suit. Healthy Paws do gluten free vegan biscuit treats for dogs in peanut butter or fruit flavour - sounds weird but my dog really likes the fruit (apple and banana) ones.
Of course dogs don't have to eat dog products. Think of what human food he would like (no VAT on most of it too)! You could also buy a turkey, cook it, freeze it into portions. Or cheese is a good treat if he can tolerate it - is he OK with dairy products? Another thing mine likes is rice cakes, cheese oatcakes or ginger oat biscuits. How about ocean sticks?

lay is on a distinguished road
Re: itching till he bleeds

Hi all,

Thanks so much for the helpful hints in dogs treats I am going to have a look this evening and hopefully order some.

He is currently having Wainwrights vegtable sticks, I cut them up as they are rather large.

He is allergic to cows milk so cheese is no good either - this was always their treat after a brush and having eyes and ears cleaned each night.

He is so much better, still itches more than my bitch but I am putting this down to habbit and trying to ignore him, whilst he is not breaking his skin I am not worried.

Thanks again everyone! x
