Re: 9 wk lab pup, sickness and diarrhoea

Thanks everyone,
I called the vet and his advice was to see how she goes and feed her chicken/rice in the morning and plenty of water. She hasn't been sick for a few hours and is drinking a little water now and then, she is however looking for food. I will go to the vet again today if she doesn't pick up within the hour.

Great, as she gets a little older, it will not be such a worry

Re: 9 wk lab pup, sickness and diarrhoea

You've had the poor thing for a week now she is probably very unsettled - did you get her jabs done or were they done by the breeder 'cos that could also not have helped her feel good?

As she is a puppy she will have eaten everything she can find and then some in your garden, have you got some missing flowers? check out the poisonous flowers list - don't worry just know which one it is, my last two have had a particular affinity for cyclmens which really upset the tummies.

Hope she feels better but I would take her to the vets this evening is she hasn't perked up and tomorrow at the latest if she's not too good.

Thumbs up Re: 9 wk lab pup, sickness and diarrhoea

Thanks again to everyone who posted on this. Good news, Poppy is fine. I took her to the vet and she had an anti vomitting jab, and panacur to line her stomach, I was also given some antibiotics to give her. The vet seemed confident that she has just picked up something that disagreed with her. She is back to herself today and full of energy! I have given her a bland diet of chicken and rice today (which she loves) and will go back to her normal feed tomorrow. I will be keeping a close eye to make sure she stays on track.

Thanks
