Nature diet

Hello

I feed my two JRTs Burns together with a level teaspoon of Nature Diet each.

As I only give them ND as a treat, 1 tray lasts them 2 weeks. I am a bit worried because the food is meant to be consumed within 48hrs. It doesn't smell bad and the dogs love it even after it has been in the fridge for a week, is this ok?

They are currently on Pork & Potato; if I was to change to a different flavour (same brand), do I have to introduce the new food gradually?

Many thanks

Maria

Re: Nature diet

Personally I would not keep it for two weeks! are your dogs very very small? Why not cut it up and freeze it if you intend keeping a pack this long!

Re: Nature diet

Top tip - Freeze it in ice cube trays and then turn out into a freezer bag. Each square is about a Tablespoon so you can defrost it as you need it

Re: Nature diet

Sorry, yes Pork and Potato is the Burns food. They are Jack Russells and I only give them ND to make the dry food more exciting. I tried veg and it gave them wind.

I thought of freezing half the tray but I was worried it would go all watery when thawed. I'll give it a try. Thanks
