Poorly pup advice please

My 4 month old pug puppy has a dicky tummy. He started to go from firm stools to Mr Whippy to splodges as the week has gone on but no blood and not quite water. He was wormed 2 weeks ago.

He eats dry food only - he was due to go raw this week but i think i need to get this sorted first (pr maybe the raw will sort it ???)

Tonight he has had two drippy bottom accidents in the house (very unusual to mess in the house).

He is eating and drinking and well in himself. Tonight i have given him chicken breast and rice. Should i starve him as i would an adult dog for 24 hours? Should i crate him tonight as usual, don't want him to mess himself, he is such a clean boy.

Any advice on this?

Re: Poorly pup advice please

I would get him to the vets in the morning, puppies can dehydrate quite quickly.
As to the crating, maybe you could put him to bed but leave the door open, if you feel he is safe doing this.
Hope it gets sorted soon

That's it really, you've got to debate with yourself, we don't know your set up at home so it's difficult to advise.
Let us know how things go at the vet

Re: Poorly pup advice please

I've just been through this with Bella (3 1/2 months). Has taken 3 weeks to sort .... having been through rice/chicken/scrambled egg diet and slowly reintroducing her usual kibble only to return to splodges she is now on a sensitive stomach diet and is doing much better. She did start with a 24 hour fast but really your vet would be the one to say if that is OK for your pup or not.

Hope overnight went ok - Bella only had one splodge in the house when she was at her worst but although she has a crate we have always left the door open overnight.

Anyway, hope she gets better soon
