Ripping up every bit of paper

Hi guys,

Some of you might know that Oli hurt her leg playing a week or so back, so I've not been able to exercise her and our walks in the park are short and on a short leash. So she's been home a lot recently and has started to rip up every bit of paper she can find it seems.

I've come home the past fews days to find she's ripped up everything that comes through the letter box. She's only ever alone for 2-3 hours tops during the day, when I have to pop out in the morning, but whenever I come back in the afternoon the mail is destroyed. And she ripped up an envelope on my desk that had a couple hundred quid in, totally destroying about £80 of it.

Amy remedies to this situation? Obviously keep any paper away, but what about the mail that comes in in the morning?

She was never a big "thing destroyer" growing up (8 months now) and would rarely chew what wasn't hers, but this past week it's getting ridiculous.

Re: Ripping up every bit of paper

Bless her sounds like she is a bit fed up.

Sounds like classic boredom. What about doing some mental games with her like hide and seek etc.

Also might be worth getting her a couple of puzzle type toys if she likes her grub, frozen stuffed kong that sort of thing to occupy her while you are out

Re: Ripping up every bit of paper

We just had to fit a letter cage (£12 from Argos) as Rocky had taken a sudden liking to the mail.............. problem solved.

For other paper, keep doors shut to all rooms apart from maybe the hall and kitchen when you are out.

I might get her a Kong thing, yeah. What do you guys stuff yours with?

And yeah, she's definitely bored and pretty stressed too. She's so giddy on our short trips to the park and cries a lot and it's frustrating me a lot, making my life more stressful because I know she's not happy, but I don't know what to do.

Letter cafe might be an idea.
