I have had to make billys exclusion wording watertight, and it clearly states: "any illness or injury directly resulting from any previous or new spider bite to his lower jaw". Now I am happy with that exclusion after chatting to my vet, originally it was worded as "any illness or injury that could be deemed as resulting from a previous or new spider bite" I wasnt happy with that (left them too many loopholes imho) and they have re-written the exclusion due to my complaint with my vets letter to back me up. I'm just waiting for the new policy to arrive.

I know this isnt what you want to hear, but hip/knee problems can and are very very expensive, personally i wouldnt risk swapping her insurance over.

I wouldn't be swapping anything over, she's not currently covered at all. I've been paying out of pocket for everything.

Anyway, the vet didn't diagnose anything. He said it's probably just bruising/sore and I can't see how this can in anyway be construed by the insurers as a "previous condition" if this were to develop from bruising into something more serious. But I know, anything to do with money brings out the ****** is somebody. And when it comes to big companies it's a great big serial ****** indeed!

Re: Insurance

JBI petcare is the one I was trying to remember - but their max cover is only £4000 - but their premiums are very good

Re: Insurance

This is the most stressful thing I've done in a long time, I've been on this computer trying to sort out a policy all day.

Pet Plan seem to be the best, but £45 a month being their cheapest full-cover quote? (£4000 per condition for life, with the £4000 "refreshed" with each year.)

Direct Line want £32.40 but they have a £6000 cap per condition, over her whole life. What if my girl develops something serious that, in her entire lifetime, goes over their £6000 limit for that condition. Is it worth it?

I'm really confused.

I've just gone with Direct Line, but like an idiot didn't look at M&S before. I think M&S sounds a lot better, and only a £1 or so more per month.

I particularly like that it says £7000 "per year" of vets fees, better than the £6000 "per problem, in the lifetime" with DL, IF that £7000 is "reset" each year. If so, I think M&S is better. What do you think?

Thanks for all of the advice so far from everyone.

Re: Insurance

I think you should be able to cancel Direct line if you want to and take out another if it's done within a certain time.
Look at the terms

Yeah, I have 14 days. But I wondered if anybody on here had personal experience with any insurer and what their thoughts were.
