Has your vet mentioned diet, ime only asking this as a friend of mine a couple of years ago reccomended Burns food to me, she had been using it for a long time and said she started using it as one of her dogs had colitis and was told to try apparently it worked wonders i dont know the symptoms but she said it had cleared and had no more problems.

Re: Colitis

hi
my name is andrew from the doggysnackshack ltd
we come accross many people with dogs with this problem
i have found that colitas for many dogs is caused by diet
many people turn to the barf diet
check on the web
it is made up of raw meat and rice, and vegetables
many processed foods hinder dogs with colitas or are so purified that they dont give the full nutrition
if you want to talk about it
please call me 02085002680

Re: Colitis

My 6th mth cocker suffers from it just finished tablets for the second lot. Dont know bout yours but mine seems to be fat intolorant so have to be carefull on food stuffs, on recommendation of others he is now on nature diet with royal canin (the food he's been on) I have been advised to give him arden grange in a few weeks still with nature diet all subject ofcourse to how is tummy is once the tablets are out of his system. I understand how you feel, worried to death on what to feed him as it feels like everything upsets them at times just watch the titbits any human food seems to set mine off and sausage especially, just give very little at a time and watch for results. As far as training treats go he's currently on coaches which are wheat and gluten free dr freewells seemed to make his stools very loose. So far so good. Hope been of help and all goes well for you

Re: Colitis

Yes - my dog's illness started with Colitis - we battled for two years with her, initially we were able to get the colitis under control. We gave no dry whatsoever, and fed Nature Diet lamb! this had fabulous results and were were able to stablize her with that, changing the main source of protien is said to help, The reason we stopped the dry altoghter was becuase irrepairalbe damage had been done to the gut and bowel.
