Re: rottweiler diarreha

Not a fan of the food you are feeding - pretty crappy stuff, normally I would say try and get you boy onto a good quality food like Nature diet (wet) or arden grange (dry).
BUT - seeing as he has been like this for two weeks I would suggest you consult your vet! ensure he gets plenty of fluids.
Please keep us informed

Oh dear!! I really feel for you cos I can imagine a rottweiler can chuck out a fair bit of the brown stuff...

I think a trip to the vet is necessary - to see if dog has picked up some sort of tummy bug.

In the mean time try fasting your dog for 24 hours to let his tummy recover.

Some foods do tend to go straight through a dog - You have not said whether you have been feeding your dog on the same food since you had him, two weeks is a long while for him to have diaroha that is why I think it important that you consult your vet, who will more they likely put it down to food intolerance and prescribe a dry food - which will probably do no good.
the reason I mention Naturediet is because it is a pretty natural food - but as you have said so is the chicken and rice - which should have sorted it out.
So that brings us back to the thought that there could be some underlying reason for the problem. Again another reason to see the vet.
I am a firm believer of introducing a scoure of protien that the dog has never been subject to before - my prefered being naturelamb - not saying this is the answer but something that has worked for me, the other problem is that you do not want to be switching the foods too often as that can cause problems in itself.
Really I would initially consult the vet, are there any other signs of illness, weighloss, tiredness etc?
regards
DT

yes he sure does!
I want to take him to the vet but i am still paying off my vet bills for my other dog becuase he broke his humerous bone.
I did fast him for 24 hours but as soon as i fed him again happens again even if i feed him rice which i was advised to do.
thanks.

I have only had him 3 weeks.
His stool was not firm when i got him but has got worse now just brown water.
He is also underweight, but seems pretty happy when i walk him but he stoppes 3 or 4 times to go and is there for about 5 mins.
I am on a low budget as i am only on benifits as i have cystic fibrosis and dermamytisis.
The prices vets charge i just cannot afford it

Re: rottweiler diarreha

I'm sorry to hear about your dog, but you do have a responsibility to get veterinary care for your dog, a lot of stomach problems can be sorted quite cheaply if you don't allow them to get bad.
Your dog will undoubtably be suffering by now and really needs vet care.
I cannot feed my boy chicken, have you tried white fish from a pet shop?
Please contact the PDSA they may help with costs, please act soon
