Re: orijen or hill's j/d?

Have you ever checked ithe igrediants in Arden Grange??? quite a good mid priced food - you could maybe add any additional supplements that would be beneficial to your dog.
love
DT

Re: orijen or hill's j/d?

Thank you DT, believe you me I would love a cheaper food! orijen comes in between the top dollars one, although hill's j/d would be higher... I realized rice was the culprit with ray's bad stools and bouts of diarrhea... most aredn grange are rice based; they do a "sensitive" version called ocean something and, again, it is based on more protein primarily white fish based and because of that cleary a lot dearer then the normal Arden's bags; it has potato as a source of carbs which is the same as orijen which also has potatoes.. I still have to supplement extra glucosamine and the rest anyway, even with orijen even though it contains some to start with.

AD was one of my chosen food initially, but although I never tried I had to cut out the rice... Ray was at first on Nutro and was never fed anything below that even before me adopting him because of his bad digestion...

Re: orijen or hill's j/d?

Hi all, and thanks for the input..
I have read the full composition of Hill's k/d here

Dog Food Reviews - Hills Prescription K/D - Powered by ReviewPost

thanks to cluless for posting the link on a different thread, I suggest we all bookmark.

I am now def returning that bag of hill's, I mean c'mon, cancer!? No thanks!
Will still feed low quantities of orijen, my mind is made up, I know is not rec for large puppies, but Ray is a medium size and ready to switch to adult and done most of its growth.
Will still ask vet under DT suggestion, better be safe
