forever moulting dog

Hi everyone,
I have a spring x staff. he is 5 and came to us from rescue 2 years ago.
His coat is more staff than springer. to give you an example I brush him every day ( full brush of hair comes out). Within an hour you can pull the hair our with no effort. If he sits on chair it is covered within 10 minutes. I have to hoover the whole house every day.
I have changed his food but this has made no difference.
I guess really I just need to know if this is normal or worth mentioning to the vet.
Thanks all,
Lisa

Re: forever moulting dog

Hi little miss

I've thought of that but I don't think I do, just a couple of hours in the morning and night. I usually have a couple of windows open in the day time (i'm a bit of a fresh air freak!).

Cheers
Lisa

Re: forever moulting dog

It may be he is not getting enough oils from his food you may need to add some
When we looked after our sons Lab at Xmas she was forever moulting more than my rough so I put her on to Burns Alert dry. This did the trick it smells a bit like cod liver oil. But she is moulting again because they put her back on crap food oh well!

Re: forever moulting dog

Chance lives in her kennel run for upto 6-7 hours most days and then the evening in the house with the heating whacked up high. Is this likely to be a reason wy she seems to moult a lot?
