Throwing up food

another health question about gizmo
Well to fill you in at the moment he has had colitis (which is settled now) he has also been digonsed with deomdex (sp??) mange, and a skin infection, which he is clearing up now.
we were back at the vets last week, as we had a few rough days with gizmo not being himself etc, vet said basically he was fed up of being ill, so he was feeling down . Well ever since that day he has been sick everyday (he's not been acting ill though) its not been alot but tonight he has thrown up three times and its been alot. any idea what it could be?
he is back at the vets start of next week.

Re: Throwing up food

sometimes dogs will throw up because food doesn't feel 'right'. it dounds like stress though, just keep him on a palin diet of chicken and rice or a little scrambled egg. I hope he feels better soon xxx

Re: Throwing up food

Thanks all, the vet is seeing gizmo tonight (they rang just to check how he was after his bath for skin) and i explained he is being sick everyday now atleast 4 times, and this morning there was some blood in it so looks like he is straining to be sick.
hes not been himself again today, barley moving.

he sounds like what my monty was like , they told me he had colitis he even had the blood in his stools. turned out after him vomiting on a weekly basis about 4/5 times a night when it happened it was his panhcreas problem not his bowel it was inflamed, and infected and had to be put on the james welbeloved fish and rice diet . since he had meds for the infection and different food he has been fine try changing his diet to james welbeloved see if this helps

Re: Throwing up food

Vets do tend to like the chappie as they say it is easlily digested - personally it is not one I like (having said theat my girl had it a short time when she was so ill) and I think you dog is too young for it - Ask your vet about
Nature diet puppy -
Give them a call and they will send you some samples.
I would totally eliminate dry food at this time - also maybe you could ask for vet for a referal as he does not seem to be moving forward.
All the best
love
DT

Re: Throwing up food

I agree with the above as dry food can take longer to digest and some dogs ( like mine ) prefer wet/moist food
