vomitting after Drontal..

I wormed the girls today, usually I give them the pink Drontal liquid, but today when I went to buy some from vets they said it doesn't treat both types and would be better off giving the tablets.

I gave them to them with no problems but a couple of hous later Lady was sick. Poppy has been fine.
I phoned the vet who said as she was sick within 3 hours of taking the tablet to wait a while until her tummy has settled and she's been eating normally for a few days then try again,

Is it true there is a difference between the liquid and the tablets?
Has it ever made anyone elses pups sick? Lady is 5 1/2 months... She has always been fine with the liquid.

Re: vomitting after Drontal..

Sorry don't know if there is a difference.
Mine have always had the tablets, with no bother.
Just put it in some cheese and they don't even notice.

Re: vomitting after Drontal..

Drontal liquid is usually used on puppies/ kittens. It is 1ml for evry kg bodyweight. Did the tablets have a dosage to give on them as maybe too strong

Re: vomitting after Drontal..

Poppy being adult got 2 tablets but as lady isn't quite 5 months she only had 1 tablet (vets advice)!

She hasn't been sick (she was sick twice) since yesterday but she isn' wanting any breakfast which is unlike her, going back to vet this morning to get the liquid, after all she is still young and don't see why I can't giver her liquid, it's worked up until now with no problems! that and she loves the flavour of the gooey pink liquid, little weirdo!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: vomitting after Drontal..

I wormed my whippet pup Holly with drontal a couple of weeks ago. She was not sick but had bloody diahrear for about 24 hours afterwards this started about 10 hours after giving her the wormer.
