Pet insurance

Hey

Can anyone recommend a good pet insurance I have looked at a few and they seem much alike, but if its anything like other insurance's they all seem much alike and when it comes to claims and things like that they are useless if u know what I mean

Thanks in advance.

Re: Pet insurance

I have had AXA highly recommended by a number of people who have had to claim back thousands on vet bills, they havehad no problems. I am not with them as i already have a policy with MoreThan, but due to the 'settling in period' of 14 days i have never been able to claim to date - my poor purse is getting empty!

I would check out the 'settling in period' (ie if your pup is ill within first 14 days they wont pay out for that or anything relating to it) and go from there. The other thing i would do is go for 'lifetime' cover, not annual, so if they get any serious issues, the company will pay out each year providing you keep up the policy. Check out AXA and see what you think.

Hiya. I was with healthy pets but they changed their insurer and it trebled in price, so that was the end of them! they all basically insure 4 the same things but asda is the cheapest I have found so you just have to decide how much you want to pay. I was with pets direct a few years ago and when I put a claim in it was settled very efficiently. Good luck

Re: Pet insurance

Hi
I have AXA pet with my eldest and Argos (top policy) for the youngest.
Be very careful when choosing a policy and ensure that you take a 'life' policy and NOT an annual one .
Aviod E&L like the plague - and generally - if they look too cheap to be true they probably are. Make sure you read the policy - then read it again - if there is anything you still don't understand then call and ask.
regards
DT

I always go for the gold option on insurance, it covers more, especially if you own an expensive breed. I have had no trouble when it comes to a claims (I have boxers and bulldogs) with either company I have been with, guess I must of been lucky.

Life time will cover the animal for the whole of its life so if it gets excema or something it will always pay out for the condition for aslong as the animal is alive and needs treatment

Annual will only pay upto 12months from the start of the condition weather the animal still needs treatment or not

I pretty sure thats it anyway lol

Re: Pet insurance

E & L are a budget - or very cheap insurance company Equine & Livestock
The cover you for the year for up to whatever the amount of cover you take out - it you pet has an ongoing illness which can cost thousands after the year is up you have no cover - whoever you go with you need to ensure that your pet is covered for life.
