Talking Re: neutering price and age

Hi,
Just had my dog Archie castrated last week at 1 yr old & the cost was £85 but I know the price does vary from vet to vet so ring your vet & ask the full cost.Could I also pass on a tip, my dog did not cope with the plastic head collar after the op so I used an all in one baby vest they have 3 poppers at the back end so his tail sat comfortably in the middle with a popper either side I just roll it up when I take hime out for a walk, its been a god send, sizes vary but sus them out before the op so that you have got one ready oh and try and get at least three so you can wash them, perhaps try charity shops to but some. If you need any more info just mail me.

GOOD LUCK, SUSIECUE

Re: neutering price and age

According to my vet/spaying or neutering is to be done between the ages of 5-6months. This is for dogs or cats, price depends on country and so on! good luck !

Re: neutering price and age

Hi
If I were you I would wait a little longer before getting you staffie done - until he has matured - between the age of 12 - 15 months.
Re you bitch - now is around the right time - you need to spay between seasons.

Cost - depending on breeds - the bigger the dog the more it costs but in our area we are looking for meduim sized dogs approx

Castration - £70 - £100
Spaying £90 - £140
regards
Dt

Re: neutering price and age

I would also wait before castrating your male,I would say around 18 months to two years is about the right time.

My bitch was spayed at 22 months, after developing Pyo and was fine afterwards. It was more expensive than a routine spay.

Our vets charge £150 for a spay and £100 for casttration.

If your close to the Mayhew Animal Home, they do free neutering for SBT's.

Re: neutering price and age

Ours is £115 in one vet
and
£144 at another

The price is higher because our pup will be classed as a large breed when hes big enough for it We are looking at it being done around 9-10months old ish

Re: neutering price and age

It's about £100 for the dogs to be doctors - not sure about the girls, I presume it's less though
