Belle's_mummy is on a distinguished road
Re: 11 wk Min Pin is very poorly...

Thank you so much for all of your kind words, advice and support. My vet also advised against contacting the breeder (for the time being at least) as she felt it may cause more harm than good if the 'breeder' turns nasty. All things and valid points considered I have decided to email her with a 'any news on the KC papers' theme and include the facts about Belle's health for info.... The next step will very much depend on her response (if any).

Belle is doing as well as can be expected and the vets are very understanding despite my 2 hourly phone calls and questions - I am very lucky. She has been on a specialist 'bland' food for a couple of weeks and I have been feeding her every two hours to no avail. There are a few potential causes being considered - Campolybacter or Salmonela she has had a sample sent away today. If these are negative she is going to have either an endoscopy or a biopsy taken through surgery at a specialist referral centre- this is obviously a worry as she is so weak and costs aside I have to weigh up the chance of her recovering v's losing her; something I just can't bear to think about.

I wormed her with the treatment I got from the vets at her routine check up and jab appointment, it has been very effective but to be safe the vets are going to treat her again today.

I feel really let down and disappointed that there are human beings out there that see puppies and indeed any other animal as a money making excercise without any care or consideration for the poor defenceless animals. I realise now that I was very fortunate with the breeders that I got Archie (my 24 wk Beagle) from, who would NEVER dream of being so neglectful. The sad thing is it has caused so much suffering, Archie is depressed and I have had him checked out by the vets who has assured me he is the picture of health just missing his friend. My daughter cannot understand why Belle is not at home and I don't feel like I am even functioning properly with all of the worry and sleepless nights.

I will keep you posted on Belle's progress and any progress (or lack of) with the breeder.

Thank you again, I am just so sad that I have had to seek this support rather than being able to enjoy this forum purely to share my love of my dogs.
