Aww!! Bless her!! All breeds are different and when its their first season, you can never know. Smaller bitches tend to come into their first season around 6 months but bigger breeds, like mine, can take up to 8-9 months.

You're right to wait the 3 months before speying. I remember my last bitch having a hormone imbalance. Everytime we went to the vet for her to be spayed, she was just coming into season!! She had 3 seasons in 6 months!! Had to have her speyed one and a half months after the last season.

All the best with Minni - and Pippin too!

Re: Minni in season

When my ex racing greyhound bitch Button had her first season she was 2 1/2 years old she was due in again in november but as of yet there is no sign. She'll probably come in season at the end of febraury just in time for crufts lol.

When she had her first season she had no swelling just a small amount of blood. My boys who normally tell me that a bitch is coming into season a month earlier had absolutely no interest in her at all. William has been al over her for the last 2 months but then again he's a bit thick and wouldn't have a clue what to do anyway

Re: Minni in season

We have light beige carpet...new! Got them in the house about two months before we rescued Pip!

Pip has been very good cleaning herself. A friend of mine said that the bleeding can get worse at around ten days, but it can go on for a while.

Were having her lady bits done in three months time!!
