Need sweater coat for puppy

Julie: I just got a puppy two weeks ago and my puppy is always cold outside when I walk him. Should I get a sweater coat for him?

Christina: Just like you and me, sweaters and outerwear are so important for us, so I don’t see why it would be any different for your pet when they’re outdoors this winter…. Yesterday, I saw this article online and I think it would appeal to you and answer your questions. It’s online at PetProducts

Both my poodles wear hand knitted sweaters. I knit them myself then I can be sure that they fit and cover up the bits that are most vulnerable. I make the chest extra deep, which is OK as they are bitches. You have to be careful that dogs don't pee on their coats if they are too deep. Another advantage to home knitting is that they cost me just over £1 each.

Oh - do you have any patterns? I'm dying to try knitting a coat for Ted, but I need an easy one to start with!
