Poorly toy poodel puppy - help needed

our 13 week old toy poodle was fine until Monday when she had her 2nd vaccination and microchip

she seemed a bit depressed but last night seemed dopey and her head was nodding

today she was howling and walking in circles and disorientated and seemed as if she could not see

she has seen vet tonight who gave fluids, some antibiotics toook temperature then gave us food to feed by syringe - she also seems to shake a lot as id shivering with cold

i am no expert but i think she has a neurological problem - she is off balance, walking in circles, crying and very dopey and seems in a daze.

vet says to go back saturday but will see how she is in morning and decide then if she needs to go back

any help please?

i would personally go to another vet straight away! she has obviously suffered some bad reaction to the vaccination

I think this could be related to the vaccinations - unfortunately once given - they cannot be taken back - would personally press you vet at the earliest opportunity for something more positive then bl**dy antibiotics. Did you vet stick the labesl off the vacs on the vac card??
regards
DT

Hi yes the vet did put the labels on the vaccination card.

I know they may seem a little sleepy on the day of vaccination but poppy seems to be getting worse.

Will be straight back to vet in morning (maybe different practice) if there is no improvement

Hi, sorry to hear of your poor puppy. I would say it is probably something to do with the vaccine but have you checked her ears? Dogs can get very wobbly almost drunk looking with a bad ear infection. Has she had a bath recently she may have water in the ear. I hope you she is feeling better but I would certainly press the vet to do a bit more than he has been doing. good luck

I personaly would check her ears, poodles are prone to ear infections if you dont pluck the hair from inside their ears.Does she scratch her ears a lot or shake her head?If it is the hair in her ears, if you cant pluck it yourself ask your vet to..Also check to see if theres a smell coming from her ears..good luck and please let us know how she's getting on.
