tooth out

Bobby, 5 mths old jumped and tried to bite kim's metal button on her jacket.
Bobby's left canine tooth came out, blood and all.
The site has some tooth in it, and Bobby is happy for me to touch it. His gum is not different coloured there.
He is eating normally, chewing everything he enjoys, so .... the question is...
Am I right in assuming the tooth I can see will be his adult one coming through, or is it more likely to be a bit of broken baby tooth?

Re: tooth out

Could be either id keep an eye as it can make the inner gum area a bit sore as it could leave a jagged site were the tooth has been maybe broken. If it is its puppy teeth coming out the chances are the tooth underneathit may push any left over tooth out any way. Id see how it goes and just check pups eating ok.

K9champ is on a distinguished road
Re: tooth out

At five months old I would expect it will be the adult tooth growing through. It would be very unlikely that the baby tooth would have been knocked out so easily without the adult tooth already pushing it outwards. You should be able to tell by looking at the tooth that came out to see if it's broken.

Re: tooth out

Just had Bobby to the vet.
Yes, it is a bit of his baby tooth, he has lost other teeth too, cleanly. He is teething.
There is no infection, continue cleaning his teeth and keep an eye on him.
£17.50 for reasurrance!
