Not sure if this is in the right place,

My 3/1/2 year old Border Has Aligies, so after lots of Test he has Injections and this works well for the past 4 Months,
then in November he Started drinking like lots and lots and lots of Water Then peeing, But also peeing on the floor when he was a Sleep, so we have been Back and Fourth to my vets in Sheffield having lots of Tests, with in almost £400,00 later there has Been nothing found but tonight the same sleeping and peeing in he,s sleep, all my vet told me was to CHANGE to a cheaper food, so what that will do i don,t know,im just really Worried, we feed Hills, because of the ALLIGIES side, He is allergic to House dust Mites, and Food Dust mights, but other than that Nothing, pluss im always making sure he goes outside to pee, he has always beena clean boy, but he father peed at my house as we bred the collie in questine our selfs, im upset after all these week we have found nothing. thanksfor trying to understand.Julie

These injections the vet has been giving him, if you are not reffering to the spcial de-sensitising injection programme where they inject a little of the allergen slowly increasing it so the dog over a period of time gets de sensitised and can cope with the allergen, then Im guessing he is giving the dog Steroid injections that suppress the immune systems reponse and in so doing the dog doesnt get a reaction to the allergen? If I an right and he is on steroids then there is your likely answer.

A side effect of steroids is increased thirst so the drink tons more and in so doing pee for england. You will likely find too if he doesnt already, he will become really hungry as steroids also increase appetite too. It can also cause excessive panting, weight gain and also his coat condition will likely suffer too, if not eventually.

If he is giving Corticosteroid (steroid injections) high dose long term can actually cause Iatrogenic Hyper Adrenorcorticism, ie cushings disease.
This can occur naturally when the Pituatory gland or adrenal glands malfunction but this is usually in middle aged to old dogs (one of my old girls has it and this requires medication) but you can also get a veterinary induced one from high dose corticosteroid injections long term which I suspect whats happened. Unlike the one my dog has, stopping the steroid injections yours should reverse.

If I have under stood you correctly and your dog is only allergic to house dust mites and food dust mites that I believe are reffered to as storage mites.
You could try something called Acclaim 2000, its really an environmental flea spray but if you check Im pretty sure it can be used to control dust mites too. You may find it could also help with the storage mite problem, if you treat the house with it.

Also see this link its The Healthy house website, they do all manner of sprays and treatments for the environmen to control all sorts of environmental allergies so you should find something on there that may control them.
Dust Mite Allergy | Healthy House

To actually help with your dogs problem. There is something called Dermacton
it is all natural comes in a shampoo bar, spray and cream, its worked on itchy
dogs where sometimes only steroids helped before, see link for full details
Dermacton - Skin Relief for Dogs with Itchy Skin

Lastly giving your dog a skin supplement to improve overall skin health and condition and also help with itching may help. Yumega Plus has had really good results, see link for full details
Itchy Dog? Treat Dog Skin Problems & Conditions with Yumega Plus - Lintbells

Another good allround supplement too, which helps with skin and digestion and allsorts otherwise is bionic biotic like all the other things suggested including the Yumega Plus again all natural
Probiotic for Dogs | Dog digestion / skin + coat supplement | Pooch and Mutt

Check with your vet if I am right and he is having high dose steroids then I am sure if he stops having them the the excessive peeing and any other symptoms will stop. My old girl without her medication that stops her own body over producting too much steroid does the same thing, she leaks in her sleep and has accidents too.

The products I have mentioned if you check them out have had amazing results and none are very expensive, certainly nowhere near what you have spent, that although may have solved one problem looks like its given you another.
henry and Dally Banjo like this.
