Question Greedy Puppy

Hi!

I am having problems with my greedy 12 week old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel puppy! I've tried all of the usual tips but nothing seems to be working. She eats really fast and doesn't hardly chew. I have bought one of those bowls to help her eat slower but it doesn't really work for her because she is still quite small so she can easily fit her nose into the sections and grab a mouthful of biscuits! I have also tried spreading her food around on a baking tray and putting her meals in a treat ball so that she cant eat loads of biscuits at once but she still doesn't really chew her biscuits.
None of my dogs eat together so there is no competition for food and she has been wormed regular!

Does anyone have any advice for me?

Re: Greedy Puppy

Some dogs are just very fast eaters and as a result don't chew. As long as she isn't being sick afterwards or suffering any other effects you may just have to accept that this is how she eats. I have had many dogs come to stay whilst their owners are away and I can tell you she really isn't that unusual! In my experience the dogs who eat slowly and crunch are definitely in the minority!
