auntiekatie is on a distinguished road
Puppy decided not to eat regularly.

Hello,

I did search but don't seem to find the answer.

My five month Coton ate Simpsons Chicken & Rice Dry food three times a day until last few weeks, when she decided she'd refuse her meals. She began to eat one third of her daily amount then a few days later will eat the correct amount, but then just as all seems well again, she refuses two out of her three meals. She'll eat cheese, chicken, and anything else except the Simpsons. So we tried Orijen, because we know from her early weeks that she likes it... or should I say liked.

We thought that it was because her teeth are coming through/dropping out so we even soften her food with water/gravy but she still seems tempremental.

Any others experienced this scenario?

Please advise,

Thanks

Re: Puppy decided not to eat regularly.

There's a thread abut this a few times a week so don't feel alone.

I'd go with tough love. And as long as the vet gives the pup the all clear she's just pushing her luck.

Put the food down, leave it for 15 mins, if it's not gone, take it up, give her zero until next meal time, then repeat.

If you start swapping and adding and changing you'll create a fussy eater. Teach her now that she eats why you put down or goes without.

Previous threads on the subject, ones with 'eating' in the title anyway lol.
