Re: poor Toby :'(
Sorry to hear about your dog but try not to worry too much until you have the test results. Has the vet actually felt a mass on examination.
The low protein shows up for lots of reasons ( mainly malabsorption consistent with GI disease though liver and kidney problems as well ) but if he's not eating at all of course this would impact on levels. However, very low albumin levels ( the main protein ) needs to be addressed as this has an important function in the blood vessels. My cat had this and one Gi issues resolved levels returned to normal. I actually wonder if he's got something like ulcerative gastroenteritis given the blood in stools? How is he being treated so far? Good luck with tests tomorrow. |

Re: poor Toby :'(
Poor baby, fingers crossed here to for a good result, don't know what perhaps something he's eaten or the like that's upset his tum, has he had any Metacam or Rimadyl pain relief? as that can cause bleeding in the stomach.
hopefully it isn't a tumour and if it is it's benign (non cancerous) keep your chin up and try to be strong for Toby's sake. ![]() ((((Hugs)))) from here to both of you. xx
