Question German Shepherd with sores!?

Hello All! Im new here and just wondering if you can help me

I have 14month old German Shepherd who has what the vet said was Wet ezcema! I was given antib's and steriods and hibiscrub!

It cleared and nows its back!!

Ive started using the hibiscrub again and applying it once a night! She seems to giving out a SMELL yuck.

Spoke to a vet and they said this could be a yeast infection? Does this make her loose more hair? She seems to be loosing hair malting everywhere! Like strands of hair not clumps! Hope that makes abit of sense!

Where do i go from here? I plan on taking her back to the vets but just wondering if any of you wonderful forumers could help me out!

Thank you!

Oh p.s.. She is fed wainwrights

Re: German Shepherd with sores!?

Its a fairly common problem in this breed.
The best you can do is clip off the hair in any "hot spots" use the hibiscrub as directed aswell as antibiotics.
It might be due to an allergy which can be investigated and possibly managed with immunotherapy vaccines but unfortunately this is expensive.
Very often most people use the steroids as very effective but they do have long term complications.

Yes I know what you mean and I know the smell...my previous dog had it a few times a few years back.
It probably won't do her any harm to have the areas bathed in a little warm water with salt in it now'n' again. I used to use a bit of cotton wool or something. However you must dry the area afterwards...just pat it with a soft old flannel or something like that and be gentle.

My current boy now also has a darker patch in his groin I've now noticed (than the other side) and he seems to have less hair that side too. So I'm keeping my beady eye on it

Get allergy tests done and try raw feeding. Is your dog KC reg'd? Could you post the pedigree? There are some dogs that have been implicated in passing this stuff on.

You could also try colloidal silver
