Re: Sherlock swallowed a ball :(

phew great news! such a worry.

a dog in my work swallowed a plastic toy, we gave him some paraffin stuff to try and help him pass it in some way, but he never did and he became really lethargic and stopped eating after a day or so. so we had to operate on him. the toy was quite large too! i was amazed he had managed to swallow it!
he wasnt allowed plastic squeakies after that!

Re: Sherlock swallowed a ball :(

Oh I wish I had seen this thread sooner, don't know how I didn't!

My three Mals have all done it, Kali and Flynn showed no distress at all and Marty was very poorly all evening and night just pooing constantly and getting weak and on getting him ready to take him to the vet next morning threw up a squeaky cow! Kali threw up a squeaky ball (tennis ball size) Flynn threw up a squeaky cat ball, a sock the entire covering of a tennis ball stripped whole and poo'd out a bandage which I saw him swallow and couldn't get to him in time!

So glad your boy is okay as obstruction can so easily become fatal. I know of two Mals who have died from it and both were socks that owners didn't know about. I didn't know about any of mine except the bandage and have been so lucky. So happy the outcome for your boy was good and like me you'll be watching like a hawk now, lol!
