JRT not right :(

Hi everyone, not been on here much since xmas but I hope you are all well. Just wanted a bit of advice re my JRT Lulu, she is off her food & losing weight. She has always been a very picky eater, she will not touch anything that is intended for dogs, sometimes snaffles a bit of cat food but mostly she just eats what we eat & does very well on it. Over the last week or so though she just seems to be uninterested in her food & has visibly lost weight (not that she is thin or anything, but her tummy has shrunk). Aside from this she is completely her usual self, happy, playful, energetic, shiny coat, teeth & gums good, clear eyes, normal poos, the lot! She is not shunning food entirely, just not as interested as usual. Not really wanting to rush her to the vet at the moment, just wondered if anyone had any ideas? **Obviously if she was looking undernourished, miserable or anything else out of the ordinary or if this continues much longer the vet will see her**

Would you say she has been indulged by being fed human food?

What human foods, often tastier than the bland dog tinned/kibble foods, human food is often sweeter and saltier.

If there is an illness cause it is often likely to be liver related as that is the key organ in a mammal that governs body weight. If the weight loss is showing in body fat the effects on the liver will be greater.

Don't leave the vet visit too long.

Thanks for the reply, I don't think I would say she has been indulged as such by eating human food, she doesn't get fed crappy processed food or chips or sweets or anything, just meat, veg & rice & has been thriving on this diet since we have had her (from pup). The vet has always been more than happy with her condition. Thanks for the info on liver problems, having read that if she has not found her appetite again by Weds I will book her an appointment. We are planning to breed form her on her next season so I want to be sure she is in the best of health ( something which I have already discussed in detail with people on here, before anyone jumps down my throat about irresponsible breeding! lol)
