Suggest some supplements?

Can anyone suggest some supplements to add to a dry dog food diet that contain:

Omega-3 fatty acids, specifically EPA
Glucosamine
Chondroitin

Re: Suggest some supplements?

Not sure what you are asking?

Just by chondroitin, glucosamine and Fish Body oils. You do not need to buy a brand name compound.

Re: Suggest some supplements?

For the Omega 3 I would recommend adding some Salmon Oil to your dogs meals. I use Healthy Hounds Scottish Salmon Oil which I get from ebay, check it out on the link.

Healthy Hounds Scottish salmon oil for dogs & cats 500ml | eBay

You could get some supplements that contain Glucosamine and Chrondoitin from somewhere like hyperdrug.

Hyperdrug - Hyperdrug, Home of the Equine Pharmacy, Canine Chemists and Pigeon Pharmacy, pet medicines, wormers, and flea treatments

Re: Suggest some supplements?

I use Seraquin for Ferdie as he is getting a bit stiff. They are chewable tablets and he thinks they are great. For Joshua I used to use:

Glucosamine for Dogs/Dog Joint Supplement/Joint Aid for Dogs [] - £23.99 : Glucosamine for Dogs, Glucosamine for Horses, Horse Supplements, Horse Joint Supplements, MSM

which was really good stuff. I could mix that in with a little wet food, as he wouldn't chew anything, chewable or not.

Re: Suggest some supplements?

Thanks all !

It is for my parents dog. He is 12 and rather stiff with some dry/bald batches on his elbows. He is on really bad quality food at the moment but I have finally convinced my mum that the vet doesn't always know best when it comes to nutrition. Her heart is in the right place and the vets had her spending over £70 for a 12kg of Hills Prescription diet! The ingredients (as listed) are:

Maize, rice, flaxseed, pea bran meal, poultry meat meal, soybean meal, maize gluten meal, digest, animal fat , cellulose, beet pulp, fish oil, minerals, L-carnitine, cartilage hydrolysate (source of chondroitin sulphate), crustacean shell hydrolysate (source of glucosamine), vitamins and trace elements. Naturally preserved with mixed tocopherol and citric acid

Which just seems like rubbish to me ?! She has also been mixing it with a mixture of either Butchers or Pedigree.

I have convinced her to buy fish4dogs and mix it up with Naturediet/Natures Menu trays/pouches. I have also got her to buy a bottle of salmon oil on sprinkle on top.

The only thing I was worried about was that her current naff food does actually have elevated omega-3 fatty acids, glucosamine and chondroitin in it and I don't want him to miss out on this and suffer because of my food influence!
