Tuna?

So, as I just posted, Orijen food has totally disagreed with Ted and he's been poorly all day. I gave him some plain rice and a little bit of tinned Tuna...... he loved it, but does anyone know whether Tuna is ok for dogs?

Thanks!

Red face Re: Tuna?

I wouldn't know if it is 'ok' all i can say is our family shis tzu loves it... that and sausage... wallops it down. So it can't be that bad, some dogs are just fussy eaters and don't like dog food. Hope this helps...

Re: Tuna?

Yes, tuna intended for human consumption is fine for dogs but should only be given occasionally to cats. Tuna based cat food has an essential amino acid added to it, but for human consumption this is not done. Some people have fed their cat almost exclusively on tuna for humans and found that their cat becomes ill. But no problem for dogs, they love sardines too and they are cheaper.
