Nose changing colour?!

Shortys nose is definetly going from black to pink, its been gradual for about a month now.
Nothing in her environment/diet has changed, she is 26mths old, should I be worried?
She is scared of the vet so dont want to take her unessacarily!

Re: Nose changing colour?!

Often called winter nose/snow nose and nothing to worry about.

In the summer it will go dark again, but only if your dog is not neutered, once neutered the nose will stay pale all year.

My cockers nose goes pink in winter, brown in summer with one small dot that remains pink.

Re: Nose changing colour?!

A lot of Goldies end up with pink noses. It's usually the ones with light skin pigment, those with darker pigment rarely get pink noses.
Nothing to worry about

Re: Nose changing colour?!

Just to check - you're not letting them feed or drink from a plastic bowl?

The bacteria from doing so can sometimes affect the colour of a dogs nose. Nasal dermatitis I think its called.

Re: Nose changing colour?!

Quite common, I think. I turned down a pup because it had a pink spot on the nose My big dog went from pink as a baby to brown-like he was getting tanned! Some dogs appear to lose all the dark pigment on their nose over the years.
