Bit of dandruff raw fed 3 months

Rio's coat is fine everywhere except the bottom end of his back has small amount of dandruff. He's never had this before he is fed fish4dogs in a morning not much only 100g & then raw at night. He get an omega 3 capsule once a day also.
I don't want this to get worse any ideas??

Do you feed enough oily fish for his coat?

Mmm I don't give him much fish as he has fish4dogs in the morning do you think he needs more? I will get some sardines do you think maybe a tin 3 times a week would be enough?

It's difficult to say without seeing your dog, but when Terence looks a bit dry I up the amount of sardines he eats. He is a staffie and prone to dry skin.

It might be worth a shot and see if it makes a difference.

F4D salmon mousse is great for skin and coat. I've been using it on and off and each time I see a big improvement.

Salmon oil is recommended a lot here as is Yumega.

You could also try primrose oil.

Your dog is probably 'de-toxing' - this can happen with a change of diet to raw and can last a while. I would be thinking of getting something to help things along -

Doggy Detox Tablets - Dorwest

Re: Bit of dandruff raw fed 3 months

All three of mine acquired dandruff for several months when I started but with fish oil capsules daily and sardines once a week it is virtually gone. As Ceearott says it is just them getting used to it. I wrote a similar thread to yours when I started cos I was worried but all will be well soon
