Red face Flea treatment querie.

Dear All,

My first post as I have just rehomed a 7 month Labrador, called Ted. He is perfect in every way except I notice he is scratching quite a bit, I called the previous owner who said she treated him last Wednesday with Bob martin Spot on treatment - for fleas and ticks. She then kindly gave me the packaging and I have read that if a dog has bad case of fleas you can re treat them after 7 days.

I have looked over him and not seen fleas, more like lice, which this treatment doesn't cover. I have some good stuff from the vet (stronghold) and this covers eveything, biting lice, fleas, ticks and even worms but..... and here is the question, would it be OK to give to him only 7 days after the Bob martin flea and tick treatment?

Many Thanks - any advise is much appreciated as don;t want to overdose poor Ted, but keen to get this sorted for him.

Read the packaging but I would consider that any risk would be less than the cost of allowing the lice an extra week of uninterrupted access for feeding, breeding and egg laying.

Consider if a bath would help also look at feeding a small clove of raw garlic (mashed up) once a week.
